I search high, I look low.
Where did my damn glasses go?
They arenβt here or over there.
I canβt find them anywhere.
Not on the couch or near the stove.
Iβve been home, did not rove!
Not by the sink, under the bed.
Well look at that! Theyβre on my head!

I always liked this song which is about a man who tries to find a place to hide along with his girlfriend because they are being pursued. His girl was being harassed by some unknown people who were cruel to her for some unknown reason. There is no happy ending in this song, as they remained paranoid and kept on searching for that place where nobody would bother or persecute them.

My sister was always looking for her glasses, and often they were on her head.

I wear the kind of glasses that stay on all day. That way, I don’t lose them, bvecause I know darn well I would….

Same here. I can’t be bothered putting them on and taking them off all day.

In my case, I got glasses in fourth grade, “only to see the board,” my mother admonished me. Trouble was, I kept leaving them at home. I started wearing them all the time, no matter how much Mom complained, and never forgot them again…

Sometimes that’s the only way.
I wear progressives now
so I don’t need to take them off.

Since cataract removal, I’ve been Rx glasses free, only need store-bought readers. Thought I’d keep a pair in the living room, my office, by the bed, and in the bathroom. So used to wearing glasses, I keep forgetting to remove them whenever I relocate, & recently I sat down on the couch wearing my office pair only to discover the LR and bedroom pairs already waiting for me on the end table. Oy.
Now I just wear one pair on a string around my neck. If only I could remember to take them off once in a while, maybe I could actually see what I’m looking at….
