Written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt
where she asks us to get creative in exactly
52 words using the prompt word ‘padlock’.
Here’s where the prompt took me.

The padlock appeared overnight on the inside of her bedroom door. She lived alone and hadn’t installed it. On her nightstand was a note in her own handwriting: “Get out before midnight!” She had no memory of writing it. Midnight was fast approaching with a big problem: she didn’t have the key.

I’m thinking “Dream On” by Aerosmith. Something has got to pop into her head and get her out of this nightmare!
