Written for dVerse Poetics – “The Smile In A Simile” –
hosted this week by Dora. This is my response.

A smile blooms like spring’s first flower,
bright as sunshine after rain,
soft as whispered secrets shared,
warm as a candle’s flame.
It spreads like ripples on a pond,
light as feathers on the breeze,
fleeting as a shooting star,
or lasting like old trees.
A smile is like a light in a storm,
guiding the lost to safe land,
gentle like a baby’s lullaby,
strong as a father’s hand.
