Written for RDP, where Punam asks us
to get creative with the word “flight”.
Thanks, Punam! Here’s my take.

Wouldn’t you like to be free as a bird in flight?
I know I would!

The fascination of flying becomes an even greater proposition when you’re about to get hit with plenty of snow and ice – would be nice if we could be free as a bird and just fly away, yeah, yeah, yeah – to some warm place!
Please be safe during the upcoming winter storm!

Yes! You too, my friend. We have the fridge stocked and we’re hunkering down for the duration.

Thanks, Nancy. At the last minute, we decided to buy a generator in case we lose power, which due to the poorly built electric infrastructure in my area can happen relatively easily during severe weather. At least I now feel better prepared.

Good thinking, Christian. You were probably lucky to score one, too!

Thanks, Nancy. We still got power, as of 10:30 am ET. Hope you are doing all right as well!

The first thing I noticed was all of the pictures on the mantel and that reminded me of Ringo’s song Photograph. Then I saw the Cavern Club and that was followed by a sign that said Strawberry Fields. In the bakery the cake says Happy Birthday, which is one of their songs. Half way through the video there is a traffic accident and that may be a reference to the car crash in A Day in the Life. There is a kite flying around and that might refer to their song Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! There is a ladder leaning up against a window and that might be for She Came in Through the Bathroom Window. It looks like a blackbird is flying into this window, which is another one of their songs. Then five people are shown walking down the street wearing pig masks and that is probably about their song Piggies. A man is sitting in a desk typing and this nis most likely a reference to their song Paperback Writer. The Blue Meanie that pops his head up out of a hole in a wall and then you see him again emerging from a man hole cover. It looks like the video is in India with the elephant in the room, which could be about the trip they too there. The drum is labeled Peppers Lonely Hearts Club and then the video goes past a statue which is probably Lady Madona. This is followed by a tombstone of Eleanor Rigby. A sheep dog runs by, and this is most likely about Paul’s song Martha. Paul is jumping up and down on a hill, being The Fool on a Hill. A girl is walking down the road carrying a suitcase and this could be their song She’s Leaving Home. The Abby Road crosswalk is shown. It looks like the stage in Albert Hall which is another reference to A Day in the Life.
There are supposedly references to Penny Lane, Help!, I Am the Walrus, Helter Skelter, Yellow Submarine, Live and Let Die, Glass Onion, Fixing a Hole and The Long and Winding Road, but I didn’t catch any of them. TI read there is a clock that reads 9:10 and this is a reference to One After 909. I also missed the newspaper taxi, which is a reference to Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.

Wow, Jim! You really got a lot of of them! I’d like to point out that the Blue Meanie you mentioned is “Fixing a Hole” in the roof and there’s also a nurse selling poppies which references “Penny Lane”. I don’t want to give any others away but the only ones I can’t find are “Yellow Submarine”, “Glass Onion” and “Live and Let Die” which I’m questioning as it’s really a Wings song. Thanks for participating!

Thanks, Nancy as this was a lot of fun. I was thinking that the scene with the car accident may have something to do with Live and Let Die.

Interesting. All I saw there was “A Day in the Life”. I’m going to watch again to see if I can find the ones I’m missing.
