“Margie, is it true what I heard happened at the shop?”

“Yes, Alice. It’s true. But I’m fine with it. There was only one pattern left for the capri pants I love so much, but since Connie always admired my capris and really wanted to try her hand at making her own, I said ‘Sure, go ahead; take it’. Well she was over the moon with the pattern, you know …. Connie, that is. She’s making her outfit out of that blue denim material that just arrived at the shop all the way from New York City.”

“Gee, Margie. It didn’t bother you not getting that pattern?”

“No, of course not, Alice. I’d prefer to surprise the twins with something I made especially for them …. yellow cotton pinafores with sweet little daisies on the front.”

“But, Margie, what about your capris?”

“Oh, I can sew those silly old things blindfolded! Believe me …. Connie needs that pattern a lot more than I do! But, Alice …. please don’t repeat that.”

“My lips are sealed, Margie.”
