Written for Sadje’s “What Do You See” #320.
Here’s where the photo prompt took me.

Among the evergreen and pinecones brown
two woolly friends in holiday attire
one dressed in winter’s purest white
the other wrapped in frosty silver-gray.
Beneath the boughs they nestle close
companions in the festive glow
while golden lights like distant stars
remind them both of springtime’s warmer days.
Silent shepherds of the season
keeping watch through tinsel nights
Christmas comes in every color
and joy is found wherever we share love.
