Poem, Word Prompt

All Snug In Their Beds

Written for RDP, where Martha asks us
to get creative with the word ‘present’.
Thanks Martha! Here’s my take.

The snow falls soft on Christmas Eve
Each flake a tiny present sent
While children dream of what they’ll receive
And find joy in the present moment

Beneath the tree, wrapped boxes gleam
But greater gifts are always near
The warmth of love, the shared dream
The presence of those we hold dear
