RDP Friday: change

Written for RDP, where Martha Kennedy asks
us to get creative with the word ‘change’.
Thanks, Martha! Here’s my take.

This year it was time to change the old, barely-working artificial wreath on our front door. The new one is more modern-looking and has a good amount of purple which complements the light pink stucco of our house. We were very surprised to found out the wreath requires four D batteries and we can’t figure out why it needs that much power, but that is a moot point. After the decorations were up, we needed to check the batteries in our many candles; most of them were dead or dying, so we had to change them out for new ones. I honestly think it took us longer to change all the batteries in the candles than it did to decorate the house for Christmas!
