Santa called a last minute company meeting to declare a state of emergency regarding his own personal shopping predicament.

“We must launch an expedition to the mall,” he announced with great urgency to his crowd of elves. “I forgot to buy Mrs. Claus’ gift!”

His friend Jingles began to flush. “Boss, you fight climate change, deliver to war-torn countries, yet you need our help buying a coffee maker?”

“It’s not just any coffee maker!” Santa protested. “It’s the deluxe model with the…..”

“We’re elves, not personal shoppers!”

Santa’s face turned redder than his suit. “Fine! I’ll go alone!”

Three hours later, he returned empty-handed and defeated.

“They were sold out,” he mumbled.

Jingles grinned. “Good thing we bought one in July. It’s all wrapped and ready to go!”

Santa was so relieved, he hugged the elephant-sized box. Best elves ever.
