Black Friday Mayhem
It’s 5AM, hear the cattle call
A multitude storming every mall
Wrestling strangers for a toaster
Ride Black Friday’s roller coaster
I clutch my coffee, dodge the fray
Convinced there must be a better way
To save twelve bucks on a yoga mat
While losing dignity (and my hat!)
By noon I’m bruised, my wallet’s light
I bought three things I didn’t like
Or need or want or understand
But hey, I saved 40% as planned!

Shopping on Black Friday is the least appealing thing in the world to me. I have a tradition which I’ve been observing for many years and that is to write out my Christmas cards on Black Friday. This year was the first time in a very long time that I broke from tradition and wrote out my cards in early November; I knew I’d be having wrist surgery and wouldn’t be up to addressing cards. Good luck to every brave soul who ventures out on Black Friday! Thanks, Michele.🌲 🎁

Honestly. They jack up the prices to “bring them down” for Black Friday. You’re better off buying a few months before! Amazing how people get suckered in.

Thank you, I’ll try not to disappoint. I’ve just looked back and I’ve played five of theirs over recent Decembers. The last time for Screecher’s song was 2022 so maybe I’ll bring it back in this year. Or not!

What a picture–I love it! This exactly why I shop throughout the year and stash away my little treasures. No Black Friday shopping for me!
Funny thing: I was in Wal-Mart last week and they had a big sign on their door stating they were closed on Thanksgiving Day. Then went to Dollar Tree and they had a big sign on their door saying they were open 10-6 on Thanksgiving Day. Boggles the mind.

Dollar Tree has the right idea, letting all Walmart customers know they’re open. That’s brilliant actually.
