Cathedral Of Sand

Here’s where the photo prompt took me.

In robes of shadow, still he stands,
A prayer of silence in these lands,
Where ancient walls curve overhead
From palest cream to cinnamon red.

The desert carved this temple hall,
Where light cascades down every wall,
A thousand years of wind and time
Have sculpted stone to the sublime.

He is but dust, a fleeting form,
Against the wave that will not storm,
A breath of black in amber glow,
Where earth reveals in depths below.

The light descends in layered flame,
Each ripple speaks the ancient’s name,
While at the center, robed and small,
He stands witness to it all.

What thoughts beneath that cowl reside?
What draws a soul to step inside
This womb of stone, this sacred sweep,
Where silence runs cathedral-deep?
