A strength
Hands that held us
when we were tiny ones
They hold us still in unseen ways
Their dreams
on hold
Inspiring us so we could bloom
Even when we wander
in darkest nights
they shine

  1. Yes, I was one of the lucky ones whose parents gave their all … I think living through the War, made them that way … although I’ve only started ‘flying’ 10 years ago, but now my dreams are beginning to reach fruition, Nancy …

It’s Just A Little Dream (Tullawalla, page 113)

    I’ve been waiting inside
    For that never-never ride
    Wishing for that little shrug
To turn into a dream-time hug

    I’ve been waiting outside
    Trying not to hide
    Wishing for that little smile
    To travel one more mile

    I’ve been waiting all-day
    Calling out, please stay
    Wishing for that little heartbeat
To lay down at my feet

    I’ve been waiting all-night
    For that one-way flight
    Wishing for that little dove
    To glide down from above

    I’ve been waiting, seems forever
    Crying quietly, oh, whatever
    Wishing for that little embrace
To sleep with me, face to face

    1. Beautiful and touching verse, dear Ivor. Quite moving. 🥰

My parents were from the depression era; every dime they earned went toward providing my sister and me with clothes, food, a home, and an education. They never took a break. My mother was a seamstress and very good at keeping a budget; our friends thought our clothes were expensive but the truth is, most of them were homemade.
