In which country is it the year 2018?
Ethiopia follows its own unique calendar, adapted from the ancient Coptic system. Unlike the international Gregorian calendar, the Ethiopian calendar consists of 13 months …. 12 months of 30 days each, plus a short month of 5 or 6 days depending on the leap year. The Ethiopian calendar runs about seven to eight years behind the Gregorian system, which means that while much of the world observes 2025, Ethiopia has just entered 2018. The Ethiopian New Year began on September 11, 2025 (Gregorian), officially marking the start of 2018 in Ethiopia.

Ethiopia is Africa’s second most populous country, and they recognized the birth year of Jesus Christ as seven or eight years later than the Gregorian, or “Western” calendar did. Nice music, Nancy.
