Just Wasting My Time

Today at RDP, we are asked to share a
story, poem, photo, painting, essay, etc.,
centered on the words
stand in’. Here’s my take.

Quit draining my time! Everywhere we look these days there’s more of everything … more cars, more banks, more fast food joints, more CVS locations, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. The list goes on and on. All of that translates into more people, more cars, more traffic. And more waiting. What a massive waste of time! I don’t like to wait or stand in line; in fact, I dislike it so much, I’m going to hire someone to be my stand in whenever waiting in line becomes an issue. I think of it as money well spent, ya know?

    1. What a marvelous poem, dear Ivor! And how did you ever thought of that old Stones’ song is beyond me! I forgot all about that one and it’s perfect. 🤩 I love it and just may have to ask you to become my personal soundtracker! 😂 Thanks for a very special comment! 🥰

    1. That is ridiculous! There’s always a line at the ladies room, so I usually leave about five minutes before the break so I can’t be among the first online. It’s worth it to miss one song. Once or twice I’ve gone into the men’s room with my husband. Nobody said boo. It isn’t anything I would do without him, but desperate times …. ya know? Thanks, Debbie

      1. I hate to miss any songs! 🥺 This venue needs to add more washrooms, because the men’s room lineup was just as bad. Only difference is, it moves faster. Yeah, I should have gone there, instead. 😆 And yes, desperate times are definitely familiar! 😥

  1. You are welcome here in Alaska- we have none of that ‘too much’ going on. That was the exact reason I originally decided to move here. I was living in a city in California that had as many people in it as the entire state of Alaska- SOLD!
