The Invitation

Our gracious host, Rochelle, encourages us
to be creative by writing a story in 100 words
or less using the photo prompt below. This is
Friday Fictioneers. Here’s where the photo took me.

“Well, would you look at this! Leave it to Melody!” Joss groused, dangling the invitation in Gino’s face.

“Yeah, so what?” Gino questioned, clearly unaware.

“So what? Are you kidding me, babe? Mel’s celebrating her 30th birthday at The BOB!”

“I repeat….So what?”

Joss was getting impatient. “Babe, The BOB….it’s that place on Monroe….the hottest venue in town.”

“Oh yeah. And that’s a problem?”

“Melody’s always showing off, acting like a big shot. She’s always gotta be the coolest chick. I swear, I really hate that bitch.”

“So I guess we’re not going.”

“Are you insane? Of course we’re going!”
