Poem, Tanka

Sole Survivor

Written for Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge #23
where Robbie invites us to write a syllabic poem using
an implied metaphor. The metaphor I chose is

“my dogs are barking”. Here’s my tanka.

my dogs are barking

yip and yap with every step

each paw tired and sore

it’s been a long hard journey

now sit, stay, lie down, relax

          1. We’re off to sleep early tonight, I have an authors breakfast to go to in morning… a get together for stall holders/writers from the Annual Book Festival at Barwon Heads (Indie Authors) 😴😊😍📘
