As someone once said, stab the body and it heals, but injure the heart and the wound lasts a lifetime.

I believe that is true; some events in our lives are just too painful.

Barry and Robin Gibb wrote the song in August 1970 with ‘Lonely Days’ when the Gibb brothers had reconvened following a period of break-up and alienation. In 1969, Robin left the group after feeling their new manager, Robert Stigwood, favored Barry as the frontman. There were a lot of intense arguments, with the brothers not speaking to each other for weeks and then coming back together again. Both his brothers showed up at Barry’s wedding in 1970, when he married Linda Gray and they started talking again. Robin came over to Barry’s place one afternoon which was a link to them coming back together and they wrote ‘How Can You Mend a Broken Heart’.

Great background story, Jim. Thanks! It’s not always easy getting along with our siblings.

For some, never; for others, the crack will remain but life is beautiful again.
Nicely done.

Mille grazie, cara mia. They say time heals all wounds. It doesn’t, as you know. It just softens the blow.

You know it, amica cara. It does heal, but with bits and pieces missing.

“Underneath the stitches
Wounds become scars”
Beluga Lagoon, Song Lyrics
Hirta Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Far to the west, are islands on the edge
Where Atlantic waves pull and sway
Where down the rope, we must go
Trying not to fall, to the steel blue below
[Chorus]
And the curling waves pull us to our bay
We are stuck on the main, some on Boreray
Running low on corn, barley, oats and there’ll be no boats for a while
Sleep easy and pray the gale doesn’t blow you away
[Verse 2]
The Fulmar floats, then she goes
So down the rope we will go
[Chorus]
And the curling waves pull us to our bay
We are stuck on the main, some on Boreray
Running low on corn, barley, oats and there’ll be no boats for a while
Sleep easy and pray the gale doesn’t blow you away
[Outro]
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves
Oh we live life this way, among the waves

11,30 pm and I’m done… the computer behaved itself all afternoon and this evening 😍🌏💻 … I haven’t done much blogging, but I’ve nearly completed my “Shangri La” Booklet, Volume 15, which is a miracle under the circumstances of the last month or so 📖😊🐶😍🌏

That’s amazing, dear Ivor! Good for you! I’ve been out all day visiting my sister who lives 2 1/2 hours away. I did a lot of driving and I’m exhausted. I hope you have a wonderful day, dear friend. 🥰
