“It’s an alien substation” Mark explained to his girlfriend Nora.

It is not! You have no idea what you’re talking about!” Nora chided.

“You know, Nora, you really shouldn’t be so skeptical; aliens are very perceptive and they pick up on negativity like yours.”

“You and your stupid aliens! That’s all you ever talk about! I’m so sick of it. One of these days, Mark…..”

And before she could finish her sentence, a giant tentacle emerged from the water, waved a greeting at Mark, grabbed Nora around the neck, and dragged her into the water.

Told you!” Mark sighed.

  1. Hello, I reallu liked your story here – and felt like I know folks who bicker (or banter) like that and then the tentacle showing up was really fun (and sci fi) and the styx song was also fun (that was the song they played at my husband’s senior year prom)
