Idée Fixe

“obsession”. This is my take.

The rain slicked her skin, mirroring the luster of her eyes. He watched her from the shadows, the scent of wet earth and her perfume a heady mix. Each stolen breath was a prayer, a pact sealed in the downpour. Her laughter, a sharp, silver blade, sliced through the night. He longed to taste the rain on her lips, to feel the chill of her skin against his. His obsession, a slow-burning fire, consumed him, leaving only ash and the burning need to possess her. Tonight, the storm would deliver him.

  1. Now that’s spine-chilling!

There’s a version of Creep I love listening to. It’s a a really atmospheric choral version by the Scala & Kolacny Brothers which despite their name is actually an all-girl choir! It starts off quiet and rises to an amazing crescendo!

    1. Wow! That was amazing, dear Keith! Small world …. I was just talking to my friend Michele about “Creep” covers. I was aware of this version but never heard it; perfect timing! It certainly is a beauty and I can see why you like it. Thanks so much for sharing this today and for your always gracious comments.

  2. Fantastic post. You know the weirdest thing Nancy, when I was exploring which song to write about today, ‘Creep’ was on my short list and I nearly pulled the trigger. ‘Creep’ is such a great grunge song (and that shredding guitar is spectacular) which catapulted Radiohead to fame and deservedly so, but the group thought it happened way before they were ready to meet the barrage of fandom and live up to their expectations.
