Such A Winter’s Day

Written for Only Murders In My Mind
Weekly Writing Prompt #53.
This week’s
inspiration is the photo seen below.

White clouds in the sky aglow,
Branches where no leaves will grow,
Dry, cracked dirt below,
Nature’s tale, silent and slow.

Cracked earth whispers sorrowed sigh,
Clouds drift, bird’s distant cry,
A dead tree stands alone and dry
Beneath the bright blue sky.

  1. Lucky us, no snow in our part of the state, and normal avg temps for the weekend. A little rain and a splash of sun, too, and the lawn’s pushing out green thru the yellowed winter thatch. Great music choice and video, too. Was that Jimi Hendrix I saw?

    1. Yes, it was Jimi! This was a new video for me and I was stoked to find it. I’m glad you enjoyed it, Liz. 😁
It’s slowing starting to warm up here but still gusty cold winds and grey skies today and tomorrow. Bill’s chomping at the bit (or is it bait?) to go fishing soon but the boat isn’t even in the water yet! That’s a long way to cast from dry dock! 😂 I remember getting snow on Easter years ago! The weather has always been changeable, although it’s obviously worse now; we can’t keep messing with Mother Nature! 🌬️

      Thanks, Liz!
