Written for Ovi Poetry Challenge #93.
This week’s inspiration word is
“rise”. Keeping with the year’s
theme of positivity, this is my Ovi.

In the valley where shadows creep
Destinies forged in tranquil sleep
Brave souls rise, their dreams to keep
in a sacred place
Mountains stand tall, peaks kiss the skies
With every dawn our spirits rise
Finding truth in each other’s eyes
and see our rising hopes
Golden beams light up the land
Through every trial we’ll firmly stand
And walk safely hand in hand
along this rushing stream
Stars above tell legends of old
Embers of tales our hearts enfold
Face our fears bravely and bold
emerging from the ashes

Beautiful comment, Esther; thank you very much. I joke about my therapeutic massages delivery inner peace but they seem to be inspiring. ☺️

Thank you, Liz! I remember hearing Eddie talking on SiriusXM while in my car; he was breaking down and discussing the structure of the Beatles song, “Dear Prudence”. He mentioned aspects of the song I was never aware of before. I was so drawn in, I had to pull over and listen. When the song came on, I turned it up and it was like hearing it for the first time. I swear I nearly cried. Totally mind-blowing experience. I love Eddie!

Even though it’s hard to discern what he’s singing in his early days, when lyrics are shared with music on videos, I’m astounded by the powerful poetry!

I’m glad (but also a bit annoyed) you mentioned that, Liz. The video I posted had sub-titled lyrics on the screen while on YouTube but when I embedded the video here, the lyrics disappeared. This happens every time I use videos with sub-titles (not lyrical videos) and I have no idea why. I need to have that explained to me!

Thank you, D! I’m feeling more inspired with the approach of Spring, centered, yet my poetry is more of a romantic nature. I wonder if they go hand-in-hand!

My poetry writing seems to be leaning in that direction lately, Willow. Well, there are worse things to write about! Thanks, Luv.

Nicely done. I love that song too. I wasn’t into Pearl Jam too much back in the day, but they, especially Eddy Vedder grew on me.

Same here but now I love Eddy. He speaks beautifully and passionately about music. I’m pleased you enjoyed this one. Thanks.
