Turning My Page

Written for Jim’s Thursday Inspiration #273 –
‘Turn The Page’
. My inspiration is the word
‘song’ and here’s my spin on things.

This week in Thursday Inspiration, Jim Adams has asked us to respond to his challenge by either using the prompt word song, or going with the above picture, or by means of the song ‘Turn the Page’, or by going with another song by Bob Seger, or any other song that is representative of the struggles that a rock musician has in their life while they are on the road, or go with anything else we think fits.

Since March is now kissing April, the WordPress A To Z Challenge is almost upon us; this will be the first one I’m participating in since I started blogging here 8 years ago. In a way, I’m turning a page. I’m excited about the challenge and am having a great time compiling it! I have chosen the theme “That’s Entertainment” ; music is something I love and I’m never far from it so this is a good fit for me. Here’s a look at my logo (a big shout-out to Ernie ‘Dawg’ Federspiel for the amazing artwork!):

In my challenge, I will write briefly about a song, band, performer, songwriter or composer and feature one song each day, all following the A to Z pattern. I’m keeping it as varied as possible without concentrating on any particular genre or era. I hope you’ll stop by on April 1 and check it out! It’s going to be a great challenge! You can stop by Sadje’s post to read more about the challenge HERE. There’s still time to sign up!

Thanks for a fun, easy-peasy (and self-promotional) Thursday Inspiration, Jim!

Big thanks Jim Adams for today’s inspiration. Thanks to all of you for stopping by for a look and a listen. See you on the flip side. 😎

    1. This is my first time doing the challenge, dear Keith. It takes time and it’s not always easy choosing which songs/singers to go with but it sure is fun doing the research! Thanks for stopping by; I hope you enjoy the music! 🎶

  1. Ima looking forward to this. I might give it a shot for a while. I shredded my rotator cuff two weeks ago and will have surgery April 30th, so I’m not sure how much tapping I can do while wearing a sling, but am going to give it a good shot. I enjoy challenges like the A to Z.

    1. Damn! That sounds painful, Phil! Sorry to learn that. I have noticed a few less posts from you lately but figured you were probably busy. That’s a long time to wait for surgery, isn’t it? Are the docs having you do some preliminary PT first? I hope everything goes superbly well for you and you’re back in the sling …. I mean swing of things …. very soon! Can you dictate into your device instead of typing? Best wishes to you and Momo!

      1. I’m going to try the dictation thing, it might work. Doc said the damage is done so waiting a month is not that bad. Momo and I are going to Fort Davis and Marfa for a week before the carving, it’ll be he last trip for a while. I just got my Epiphone Montana guitar back too.

        1. Sounds like the doc isn’t feeling your pain! Hopefully it’s manageable and you can enjoy your trip. No guitar pickin’ for a spell, I reckon. As the kids say these days, it is what it is. Try to make the best of it. All good wishes, Phil!

  2. This will be my seventh-year writing in April A-Z, and I did songs back in 2001. I usually get caught behind for this challenge, scrambling to write posts all the way to the end, but I got a big jump this year and I only have seven posts left to write. I plan to finish at least three more before April gets here, so that will leave me with just one post per week, which I am sure I can manage. I am looking forward to all the entertainment that you are going to provide all of us, Nancy.

    1. I hear you, Jim! I don’t enjoy being under the gun so I got an early start, too. I’m currently working on Letter Q so I’m in a comfortable position. It’s not easy making musical selections, as you know; there’s just too much good listening material available these days, not that I’m complaining! I hope everyone will enjoy my choices. Thanks for a great comment, Jim; looking forward to your challenge as well.

      1. Mine may not be for everyone as I am writing about the NFL this year and a lot of my posts are very long, because there is a lot that needs to be explained. I am doing this to honor my father as he taught me to love the game.
