Written for Ovi Poetry Challenge #82.
This week’s inspiration word is
“aware”. This is my Ovi.

He knows when I feel weary
Which movies make me teary
The sounds of Blossom Dearie
That’s marriage

He knows I drink my coffee black
Where to rub my aching back
And what I like for a snack
That’s togetherness

He knows when I feel glad
And the things that make me mad
But he never makes me sad
That’s insight

He knows just what to say
When I’ve had that kind of day
He makes my blues go away
That’s mindful

He knows he’s my only one
My evening moon and morning sun
From my arms he’ll never run
That’s love

He knows when I’m feeling blue
When my heart feels broken in two
My man knows just what to do
That’s aware

Sometimes I wonder why
When I didn’t even try
I found the perfect guy
That’s magic
