This Or That

● Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car

Is this a trick question? After having gone through three surgeries on my left knee, a hip replacement of my left hip and a spinal fusion of my lower back, you can easily understand why I might be a bit reluctant to ride a bike or a horse. A fall from either one could do me in. You’ll only find me in a car, preferably driving it and not a passenger; I’m a much better driver than a passenger. I survived a major rollover. I believe my chances of escaping serious injury from a car accident are better than a bike or horse accident. Being a city girl, a car is my modus transportatus.  🚗

  • If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or  yard work?

Since I can only pick one, I’d have to say cleaning. After having gone through all the surgeries mentioned in my answer to question #1, I’m not the most “flexible” when it comes to reaching under, around or above furniture or appliances. Since we already have landscapers for the yard, that is a moot point. And I love to cook so that’s another non-topic. Cleaning wins this one.  🧽 🪣

  • List two pet peeves.

This is pretty easy. Irresponsible screwups! The staff at our doctor’s office is a prime example. Every time we need a prescription sent in to the pharmacy, they send it to the wrong place. We deal with a big chain pharmacy with many locations but we always use the same one so this should be routine for the staff. Somehow they still manage to get it wrong. 💊

Another pet peeve has to do with coffee. ☕️ I drink decaf; anything with caffeine gives me heart palpitations. One cup will put me over the edge. My pet peeve is when someone serves me regular coffee and lies to my face about it being decaffeinated. Fortunately a doctor friend of mine told me whenever someone slips me a mickey, I can reverse the effects by taking one Tylenol PM. Since my caffeine consumption is practically nil, I know after a few minutes when I’ve consumed caffeine; it’s an uncomfortable feeling and I don’t like it. But even more, I don’t like it when someone lies about it. Is it asking too much of people to do their job, do it right and tell the truth?   🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me a little better. Thanks to Kymber Hawke for a fun prompt. See you next time!  😊

  1. I don’t blame you for sticking to the car. Makes sense to me. I like how you are the driver, too.

That’s so annoying about the prescriptions and the office calling them in for you.
OMG they give you a mickey instead of decaf? That’s horrible.

Thank you for playing, and happy Tuesday!

  2. I’m with you on the ride – car all the way, baby.

Absolutely a house cleaner – I loathe house work!

And who knew you were a caffeine wimp? What kinda Italian are ya, anyway? (You know I’m just joshing on this one)

  3. This was fun, and a great throwback song, to boot!

And a car, though I have romantic visions of riding bareback on a roan horse, hair and long locks glowing & lifting in the breeze. Clean my house, please. And my peeves? Orange liars and mean people: they suck!

    1. Ok, having had your own B&B, why would a restaurant do that? I believe it’s because more people drink regular coffee and the restaurant management can’t be bothered making a full pot of decaf for just a few of us. Some places don’t even offer herbal tea so I’ve started carrying a couple of tea bags in my purse and asking for hot water. It was embarrassing at first but I got over that fast enough!

      1. That’s exactly why some of them do it, they don’t want to make a full pot and have to dump the rest. But the answer is an air pot, the coffee will stat hot for hours and not overcooked.
It’s awful when you go into a restaurant and you see the decaf pot with about a cup left in it sitting on the burner for who knows how long!

        1. Your last paragraph is spot on. I’m a bit of a coffee snob. I no longer ask if the decaf is fresh; I ask how long ago the pot was brewed. If the answer is 2 hours, that is far from fresh. I’ll ask for a fresh pot; most places do it, no problem, but I’ve had some waiters get into it with me about having to make a fresh pot. That’s fine; their loss.

  4. Yes, I have decaf coffee … but that’s mainly because of Frankie, he likes to drink a saucer of my coffee and caffeine is poisonous for doggies, so Frankie and I share a Decaf coffee …
