Carla’s Big Night

Written for Friday Fictioneers where we’re given a photo

in 100 words or less. This is my 100-word inspired creation.

Ungrateful … bastard … son-of-a-bitch … always telling me what to do … when to do it … waiting on him like a motherless child … picking up after him … cooking three meals a day … seven days a week … cleaning … cleaning … cleaning … and what’s my reward … an unwelcome fuck at 3 AM … pig … I … have … had … enough!”

Carla’s thoughts raced through her head like a locomotive engulfed in flames.

“You gonna cook that pizza or beat it to death?’ he snarled.

He died instantly. Death by rolling pin.

  1. I was cackling with delight while reading. This couple is a lot like my mom and stepdad’s relationship. She never complained though, I think she was conditioned to believe this was her place in the world. She was devastated and rudderless after he died.

  2. I can imagine the aftermath. She’ll be jailed, Women she’s never even met will mount a campaign for a retrial. They will be ignored. The campaign wlll grow, Politicians will act. She will be carried shoulder high from the appeal courtroom

  3. Officer! I have no recollection of what happened. One minute I was making pizza, the next, the rolling pin went flying. Slipped right out of my hands and onto his head. Helluva thing..

Love this, Nancy. He had it coming. .
