Welcome to Birthday Thursdays! Each week I will feature someone from the world of music whose birthday falls on this day. There won’t be any chit chat from me, no facts and figures – just some great tunes (and an occasional surprise). Check it out right here every Thursday and enjoy the music.

Love Rosemary Clooney’s voice. It’s so rich.
I remember seeing George Clooney in an interview, talking about “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou” and the directors assuming, because he was the nephew of Rosemary that he could sing. Nope. LOL!

RC sorta reminds me of a female Mel Tormé with her velvet-like smooth tones.
I love that GC movie!

Aunt of George Clooney and mother-in-law of singer Debby Boone. Nice tunes, Nancy.

Not known as a classic beauty, Rosemary Clooney was a great standards singer and jazz vocalist. Very entertaining with a terrific sense of humor.

Very true, D. She was a classic, in some ways similar to Jo Stafford.
