Just who in the hell do you think you are
Sitting out there in your flashed up car?
Everybody knows that youâre just a fool
Strutting âround town like youâre oh so cool!
You chased me and wooed me and swept me off my feet
With dime store trinkets and whispered lies so sweet.
I felt so very special when we were out together.
Ignoring all my friends when they said I could do better.
It didnât take long for your true colors to show.
And you turned into someone I didnât even know.
That was just the start of a whirlwind of deceit.
Thinking you could use me and then kick me to the street.
My father always told me you were nothing but scum
But I just wouldnât listen, I acted deaf and dumb.
You think youâre perfect like Jesus walking on water
But tell me, what kind of man leaves his wife and daughter?
What happened to your soul, your spirit, your heart?
Did you ever once wonder why it all just fell apart?
Of course you didnât; your conscience is clean
Of every misdeed you claim to have never seen.
So do us all a favor and get the hell out of here.
Donât come close to me or the ones I hold so dear.
Take your heart of rotten wood and donât bother to return.
Youâre going straight to hell and Iâll be laughing while you burn!

Thanks very much, CA! Some of these are so old, I don’t even remember them and need to go back and take a look. I’m glad you enjoyed this old one!

Oh dear. She should have listened to her friends and her father. Tough road for her, but she’s got her act together by the end of the song. Phew.

I have to agree with that perfect summation, Margaret!
Our girl knows how to take care of herself and will be just fine!

‘That’s him tellt’ as they say here.
Wonderfully vindictive poem and I love the title.

This was so much fun to write!
Those chairs were on the lawn of the house across the street from me. My 3 yr old granddaughter was obsessed with the broken one, saying “that chair is certainly a mess!” I couldn’t resist sending it in to the challenge.

You just summed up the kind of guy who wonders why there isn’t instant forgiveness for a thoughtless apology!

Ah, yes, the tragedy of the death of love’s young dream in a pounding poetic piece!
And I’m still rocking to Arthur’s great song:
‘You’re gonna burn, burn, burn…’

“A pounding poetic piece!”
An awesome and amusingly arousing alliterative assertion, amico mio!
