The Elephant's Trunk 
To think, she would have been 40 this year had we not lost her back in 2011. I watched a documentary about her the other evening, and I was moved to tears, something that rarely happens. Such a loss.

This is exactly why I decided to keep my comments to a minimum on these birthday tributes; I hoped people like you would have wonderful things to add … and I was right!
There are a couple born with that spirit who I can think of off the top of my head: Billie Holiday is one; Amy is another. Both immensely gifted. Both tortured souls. ❤︎
