My parents fought just about all the time; from breakfast until Dad left for work they would argue about something, then theyâd start in again after dinner.
Iâd hear them arguing while I did my homework; at night while trying to get to sleep I would hear other noises coming from my parentâs bedroom which were pretty loud but they definitely werenât fighting and the next morning they were all smiles â go figure.
Then one day my friendâs older sister told us we had to have a talk; she was 12 years old and already wearing a bra with a C cup so we paid attention. That was the infamous day we learned about S-E-X and boy, was that an eye-opener!
I was a pretty curious and precocious child so after that talk I figured out darn quick what those noises were from Mom and Dadâs bedroom at night and why they were always so happy the next morning after one of their big arguments.
Right then and there I promised myself when I got married I would fight with my husband as often as I could; I mean, if Mom and Dad were that happy every morning, there had to be something to this S-E-X thing after all. Â

I like that story, is it real?

Not this one, no. My stories are a mix of fact and fiction; this one is fiction. I’m glad you liked it!

A very well done Six. You’ve reminded me of a line in C.S. Lewis’s novel, The Horse and His Boy. Toward the end, he notes that Shasta and Aravis argued and made up, and argued and made up, and got used to doing it, and did it so often that when they did finally grow up, they got married so as to go on doing it more conveniently.

Not that I my focus is easily drawn away from the simple and straightforward, i.e. a fun Six with just the right amount of extra inference in your on-the-money choice of video.
But!
Lol
If I might submit an additional ‘boom shakala’ in the form of Was(Not Was)’s ‘walk the Dinosaur ‘

Ha ha! Great Six. The coming-of-age tale. Happy to see that innocence last to twelve! I’m not sure lasts that long these days. đą

Thanks, Susan! From what I’ve observed lately, the life expectancy of the age of innocence is a short one.

In this day and age, a 12-year-old girl in a C cup is sadly all too common (all the hormones in the food, I think). In our day, 12-year-old girls looked more like the redhead with the pigtails in the picture, who looks a lot like my cousin Kathy when she was 12, pigtails and all….

You got that right, John! They all seem to be in a rush to grow up, which is really a shame. My 12 yr old grandson has a “girlfriend”. According to my son it’s “kinda serious”; I just hope they all remember he still needs time to be a kid. As Grammy, I only have so much say in the matter

Great story, taking us from innocence to winking knowledge of the adult world. Love it!
And Tina! Shows shainnyou don’t get legs like hers from sitting around all day. Amazing!

Thanks, Liz! Those legs were unstoppable! What a dynamic force of nature she was.
Glad you enjoyed the story; I had fun digging into my memory bank for this one.

Tina: Simply the Best. I read recently that Mick Jagger said she taught him how to dance. Love this clip – I’d never seen it before.

Yes it was Sly/Family. I liked this vid because Tina and the girls sing “boom shakalaka” at some point after the opening dance number (which was phenomenal!).
