The Elephant's Trunk 
The first time I heard this beautiful but sad piece was in the movie, “Amadeus” Mozart was a musical genius.

I adore this piece. I’ve heard it sung in cathedrals many times and it never fails to lift the soul. It’s actually on a list I’ve compiled of music to be played at my funeral!

It is definitely a gorgeous piece and I never tire of hearing it. I’ve had the privilege of singing it many times while I was with my choir. Singing it is just as inspiring as hearing it … just in different ways.

I know what you mean. But I’m also in awe of my granddaughter who can sit at a keyboard and find the right notes for something she’s just heard. My mom could do that too. Amazing.

For the record: I consider Mozart’s works absolute masterpieces- Requiem is a gigantic monolith of sacred music.
And all that from someone who kept the child and the fire alive…until it burned him.
