Final Surprise

at No Theme Thursday, this has been written for
dVerse Poets Quadrille #214 – “Going Out With A Bang”.
Theme suggested by Punam; this is my 44 word quadrille.
Chastised
My quadrille for dVerse
using the word ‘imagine’
As a former children’s choir director,
I often rewrote the lyrics
to favorite songs.
My days as a lyricist ended
after being chastised by a pastor
who accused me of
‘lacking imagination’
by using the same melody
and ‘simply changing the words‘.
Imagine that!
