The day
I was born,
my father
declared
my cheeks
to be
as
‘rosy as an apple’
and begged,
“Someone,
please,
pinch me!”
My 4 year old
sister,
however,
was quite
annoyed
that I
was born
during
her
birthday party.
She’s
never
forgotten.
