Rochelle at Friday Fictioneers has challenged us
once again to create something amazing
in 100 words or less to go with the photo prompt below.
Here is my 100-word response to that challenge.

ยฉ Peter Abbey

โ€œWhat are they looking at, Bob.โ€

โ€œSomething rather barbaric, Ellen. I think we should just move along.โ€

โ€œWhat do you mean โ€˜barbaricโ€™? Now Iโ€™m feeling both disturbed and curious.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s an execution, Ellen.โ€

โ€œAn execution? Here โ€ฆ. out in the open? When did that become legal?โ€

โ€œLast week. Itโ€™s the โ€œRevenge Billโ€. Convicted murderers can be executed the same way they killed their victims. In the cage is the โ€œBathtub Murdererโ€. Heโ€™ll be lowered into the water and kept there until he drowns. These people watching are the victimโ€™s family members.โ€

โ€œOMG! Thatโ€™s dreadful!โ€

โ€œAn eye for an eye, Ellen.โ€
