Carpe Diem: A Cinquain

Written for Cinquain Poetry Prompt #42 where our
inspiration is “balance”. Here’s my mirror cinquain.

If we
maintain balance
in all the things we do,
life will be on an even keel.
No bumps.
Smooth ride.
“Everything in moderation.”
That’s what our mothers said.
Some cry “Boring!
Come on….
let loose!
Go for the gold!
Throw caution to the wind!
We live too short and die too long.
Carpe
Diem!”

But don’t forget …. wear a helmet,
for those bumps in the road
may toss you on
your ass!
