The lights of Manhattan shimmered over the Hudson River as midnight approached. Julia traced her finger along Preston’s jaw, her touch igniting the spark that deepened over time.

“Remember our first kiss?” she whispered, the memory dancing in her eyes.

His smile answered before words could. “And every New Year since.”

Ten years. A decade of shared mornings and whispered secrets, of building a life …. not from grand gestures but from kind words and tender moments. The pleasure of simply being in each other’s presence.

The door to their room clicked closed behind them. Outside, fireworks began but they barely noticed. This night wasn’t about celebrating on someone else’s whim or schedule. Tonight was theirs alone.

β€œMake love to me.” She pulled him close, her lips finding his. Β
