RDP Saturday: party

Written for RDP, where Punam asks us
to get creative with the word ‘party’.
Thanks, Punam! Here’s my take.

Are you a party animal or a loner? Maybe, like the majority of people, you are somewhere in the middle. That’s where I am; my party days are long over. So what are your plans for the holidays? Is there a party in your future? Our plans are family-oriented … Christmas Eve dinner with our younger son, his in-laws, and, of course, Colette. Christmas Day with our older son, his wife, and our three teenage grandchildren. The Saturday after Christmas we’ll attend the children’s performance of Mozart’s “Magic Flute” with Colette at the Met Opera House and finally, family dinner for 20 people and a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit (men vs women), before watching the ball drop on New Year’s Eve. That’s our definition of “party”.

    1. Thanks so much, Brenda. We are blessed with wonderful in-laws, truly good people. And of course it doesn’t get much better than spending the holidays with our kids and grandkids. Wishing you and yours a joyous Christmas and blessings throughout the new year. ✨ 🌲 ✨

  1. I’ve got my dancing shoes on, but my feet are stuck under the table, … the mind is willing my body is weary, Nancy … time for me and Frankie to have a break and enjoy our holiday in Ballarat, it’ll be a great family get together and party time during the week or two …

  2. To get you ready for your Trivial Pursuit game, try to answer these questions. “Who painted the Mona Lisa?” “What’s the chemical symbol for water?” “How many colors in a rainbow?” I hope you have a wonderful time with your family, Nancy.

  3. This is building up to be the busiest Christmas season I’ve ever had which is why I’ve been a bit absent of late! I’ve been entertaiing guests at my place every few days – more tomorrow, more Tuesday and more to come on Christmas eve! The big day is down to my son and dil -they’ve got 16 of us for lunch!

I’m beginning to think a lone Christmas might make a nice change!

I’m outa here until Dec 29th, I hope you and you family have a wonderful time – I’ll raise a glass to you on Christmas Day!

  4. Enjoy your celebrations Nance! I will be with family, it will just be me and my parents on Christmas day, so a quiet one. On boxing day we’ll go to my sisters for dinner, and on Christmas eve my sister and her kids will come to mom and dad’s house so we can all exchange gifts!
