This week at Glyn Wilton’s Mixed Music Bag,
he’s asking us to write about a song in which
the title or a line mentions the current month.
Here’s my November artist and his song.

This week in Glyn Wilton’s November Mixed Music Bag, I’m featuring a beautifully melancholy song from the world of country music.
Zach Bryan is a country singer/songwriter from Oologah, Oklahoma, who was born in Japan in 1996 while his parents were stationed there. He started writing songs at age 14. He first gained recognition while serving in the Navy, recording and uploading songs to YouTube in his free time. After his music gained widespread attention, Bryan received an honorable discharge after 8 years in the military to pursue music full-time. His songs are known for their authentic, folk-influenced sound and lyrical depth. Many of his videos, including his hit song, “Heading South”, were filmed on an iPhone outside his barracks. His first album, DeAnn, named after his late mother, was released in 2019; he has released four additional studio albums since then and two live albums. Bryan made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in 2021
“November Air” is a song from Zach Bryan’s EP, Quiet, Heavy Dreams, which was released in November, 2020. It is a song about grief, memory, and longing, written as a message to his late mother, DeAnn, who died from alcohol and drug-related complications in 2016. “November Air” uses vivid imagery and emotional storytelling to express his feelings of loss and his desire to connect with his mother. It is considered a deeply personal and reflective track for many listeners who often connect with its themes of nostalgia, bittersweet remembrance, and the passage of time.

My pleasure, Nancy … I managed to sleep in this morning, this old poet is experiencing a hectic time … publishing/editor commitments, writers meetings, a CHW review, market day on Saturday, and my Dome poetry group on Sunday … never a dull moment for this old retiree …📖🤗😏💕🎶🌏
