Written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt
#441 where we’re asked to be creative in exactly
73 words using the word ‘cerulean’. Also for Sue &
Gerry’s Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge –
‘bucket’. Here’s where the prompts took me.

Beneath a cerulean sky, so vast, so wide,
Dreams drift gently on a whispering tide
The sea, a mirror of endless desire,
Holds secrets deep in its heart of fire.
I dip my bucket into the shimmering blue,
Collecting stardust and memories anew.
Each drop a story, a wistful gleam,
Woven in waves of a boundless dream.
Oh, let me sail forever on this tranquil sea
Where waves of reality float away peacefully

As soon as I saw the prompt and image, I started singing Sailing in my head! Now I’m singing it out loud. For some reason, it makes me think of finishing so at some point I must have either heard it or had it on my mind when I was fishing!

I was thrilled with how evocative this image turned out, D. If it makes you think of fishing, that’s cool. I think about skimming the waves without a care in the world …. maybe dropping anchor to cast out, try my luck. 🎣
Happy Sunday, mon amie!

Fantastic poem. It expressed my desire to be back by the ocean in Portugal so well.
