Written for dVerse Quadrille #235 – Take Your Poem
For A Whirl Around The Block! Our host De Jackson,
aka WhimsyGizmo, invites us to pen a poem of precisely
44 words, using a form of the word “whirl”. This is my quad.

she moves
through life
like a
whirlwind,
untamed and wild
a woman
with the
blithe
heart
of
a child,
a swirl
of
laughter and grace
born to be
free,
she twirls
with
gay abandon,
a spirit
unbound,
buoyant,
capturing joy
in a
carefree embrace

I feel such bright energy in this, Nancy — “a swirl of laughter and grace” beautifully captures her spirit. 💫

I am reminded of the movie by the same name, Blithe Spirit, and I so wish they had consulted you before they made an absolute disaster out of a story that could have been so wonderful! Thank you for painting the Blithe Spirit as she deserves to be painted.

I remember that movie as being totally underwhelming and utterly disappointing. If anything, I just borrowed the name. Thanks for a great comment, Jodi.

I love the shape of your whirlwind quadrille, Nancy, and the thought of being ‘a woman with the blithe heart of a child’. That used to be me…
