Today at RDP, we are asked to share a story,
poem, photo, painting, essay, etc., focusing
on the word ‘nuts’. Here’s my take.

Faux Pas
I’m one of those people who likes nuts in my ice cream; that little bit of crunch turns boring vanilla into a taste sensation. But I have to be careful which nuts I eat as some are harder than others and I have trouble digesting them. To avoid stomach distress, I make sure I know exactly what type of nuts are in my ice cream; it’s clearly written on the side of the ice cream carton. But if I’m ordering dessert in a restaurant, I have to ask. Sometimes that can get me into trouble. Recently, when I innocently asked a waiter if his nuts were soft, he smiled, winked and passed me his phone number!

Oh, this reminds me of a “Nutty” poem I wrote many years ago …
My Nuts Are Missing.
Breakfast time
Healthy cereal and milk
And a few nuts
I like to nibble
On my nuts
Oh no
Nuts …
“Where art thou”
Not in the larder
Oh, my tasty nuts
Not to be found
Not in the bedroom
Only a small home
My nuts can’t be
Far away
Oh, nutty me
“Where would’ve
You looked
For my nuts”
..
Oh no
“Not in the fridge!”
My nuts are frozen
Now to find my car keys

Nuts or even dried fruits in ice cream can be more satisfying than plain ice cream. I usually add my own though.
Your encounter with the waiter bought a smile Nancy 😁
Thanks for joining in RDP 😀

Nuts and dried fruits in a dish of ice cream could be a meal for me! I always keep some on hand for baking or to toss into my morning cereal as well as ice cream.
I’m so glad to know you enjoyed my naughty waiter story; I was chuckling the whole time I was writing it.
Thanks very much for your lovely comments, Brian! I’m new to RDP and enjoying it immensely!

The enjoyment of some fruit and nut muesli on fresh fruit and yoghurt is one of my summer pleasures
I enjoy a good story with my Ragtag Prompts. So happy you are enjoying yourself Nancy. I look forward to more post, naughty or not 😁

I love nuts too, but thankfully, I have no problems eating them and I love your waiter story made me laugh😄

I wish I could eat them all, but I do have to be careful. I’m lucky in a way because the nuts I really like are the ones I can eat such as pistachios, macadamias, walnut, pecans, and pine nuts. I’m so glad you enjoyed my naughty waiter story. 😂 Thanks very much, Ange!

I certainly can identify with making the occasional faux pas but after reading this…after my next one just to sound off on my frustration I might say, “Nuts!”

You set yourself up for that one. I can’t eat nuts either, something to do with digesting them, and they make me want to dig a hole and bury them in the back yard.

Yep, I learned the “hard” way how painful it can be digesting some nuts.
