Written for Cinquain Poetry Prompt #19.
Our inspiration word is “nonsense”. I have
written a Mirror Cinquain, a 10-line,
single stanza poem with a syllable pattern
of 2 – 4 – 6 – 8 – 2 – 2 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2.

Both sides
go round and round,
like monkeys chasing tails;
arguments of profound nonsense.
Clap pat!
Clap slap!
What a flock of absurdity!
Gibberish promises.
You know … it’s just
nonsense.

I loved this one- read it last night in the dark so I couldn’t comment then- but very clever and timely!

I try. ☺︎ Dude projects quite the political image, don’t you think?

Shirley Ellis also sang The Name Game.

Yes, she did, which is also what I call a “nonsense song” but we had fun with it when we were kids.
