Written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt
#433 where we’re asked to be creative in exactly
60 words using the word ‘flibbertigibbet’.
Here’s where this very fun prompt took me.

A little Flibbertigibbet, quick as a blink,
zipped through the garden, then paused to think.
Climbed up a stem and bounced on a flower,
giggled a secret, hour after hour.
I chased it with joy, through sunlight and gleam,
That sweet Flibbertigibbet, a whimsical dream.
A rustle of mischief, a skip, jump and hop,
its laughter overflowing, unable to stop.

Great poem from a funny word! So weird, this song goes through my head randomly all the time, but I haven’t heard it in years, thanks for sharing this one Nancy!

What a sweet and cheerful poem. It conveys pure magic and playfulness, like a breath of childhood in the garden.
