Written for Gerry & Sue’s Weekly Prompts
Weekend Challenge, using the word ‘shimmering’.
Here’s were the prompt word took me.

The long days fade, a golden hum,
The last bright warmth of summer’s sun
Still glimmers on the sleepy green.
A sweet, soft memory, unseen.
The morning air grows clear and clean,
A cooler light begins to gleam.
On leaves now brushed with fire and gold,
A shimmering new story’s told.
The world lets go, with grace and ease,
Carried by the autumn breeze.

Ah, that’s what it felt like this morning, chilly. But it’s going to hit 80 later today!

It must be great being a weather person! It’s the only job someone can be consistently wrong and never worry about getting fired! Enjoy the day, D!

Very mellow Nancy, and beautifully so, …Autumn calling,…, …and the music? Says it all. …💙

Thanks, dear Penn. Did you enjoy that golden oldie? I’m wondering if you recognized the wonderful Dusty Springfield in that trio!
