It’s Just Not Fair!

Written for Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt #427
using the word ‘conference’, and for Sue & Gerry’s

Weekly Prompts Colour Challenge – ‘brown’.
In exactly 59 words, this is my take.

Rebecca wanted more from life; knowing Richard would never amount to anything, she left him. Now, five years later, she’s working as a hotel cocktail waitress fending off unwanted advances from tipsy, like-minded businessmen in brown suits. And Richard? He’s a successful doctor attending a medical conference in the same hotel.

Why did life have to be so unfair?

  1. I agree with Fandango, but at the same time, I feel sorry for her. Maybe you could write a sequel where she picks herself up and does well.

Thank you for taking part in the Brown challenge, Nancy.

    1. The identical look was intentional as I told ChatGPT to make them all look alike. It was to signify the concept of “typical men” who all think the same way. Rebecca has made some very poor life choices which I’m sure she regrets. Hopefully her life will turn around. C’est la vie. Thanks, Fan…
