Written for Esther’s “Can You Tell A Story In…..?”
#287 – exactly 40 words using the five required
prompts: ‘curl’, ‘potion’, ‘robin’, ‘unicycle’ and
‘bombast’. In 40 words, this is my story.

Unicycle-riding clown Rolling Robin made a tragic error in judgement. He believed beguiling Wizard Bombast when he said drinking his potion would allow Robin to perform a perfect tightrope curl. Bombast was lying, of course, and now Robin feels miserable.

Riding half a bicycle is never wise, especially whilst high on a tightrope!

I once knew a guy who rode his unicycle to deliver the daily newspaper around his neighborhood. A photo of him doing exactly that was the newspaper’s headline story one day. It must have been a slow news day but he got his 15 minutes of fame!

Never, NEVER trust a guy named Bombast! And don’t be beguiled by a golden throated voice of a guy who calls himself “Puddles.” These things never end well…😂

A tightrope is not a good place to figure out you’ve been deceived! Clever take.

I had a unicycling clown in my 40-word story, too.
