Written for Tanka Tuesday Poetry Challenge #11
where our host Colleen challenges us to write a
syllabic poem of our choice featuring our Zodiac
color according to the chart shown below. I am
Pisces and the color chart says my color is pink.
What is your zodiac color?

Endless melodies
Pink whispers in springtime air
Romantic winds sing
Pisces dreams afloat
Emotional tides embrace
Love dances with stars
Music’s gentle touch
Passionate hearts bloom anew
Friendship blossoms here

Nancy’s Notes: As the mix between red’s passion and white’s purity, pink symbolizes love, nurture and compassion. It evokes feelings of comfort, warmth and hope. Pink is also a sign of good health with the phrase “in the pink.” It symbolizes success in the expression that “everything is rosy” and happiness with “tickled pink.”

A sign of times, like blossom over …
“Blossom Over Jerusalem”
I write about the purple moon
That eats the night with a silver spoon
I write about the yellow sun
That bathes our day with gold by the ton
I hear the bird’s morning songs
They caress the world’s souls, right or wrong
I hear the animals’ mighty roars
They remind us of the great outdoors
I see the blue sky above
Where life’s white doves carry our love
I see the green pastures, beyond Jerusalem
Where life’s fruit trees blush with blossom
