Di at pensitivity101 is asking us
to share our world by answering
a few questions. I can do that!
Here are her questions ~

● Are you ticklish?
Yes; as I’ve aged, though, I’ve gone from extremely to very. My mother used to make our clothes when I was a child. When being measured for mine, she couldn’t touch me anywhere without me wriggling like a worm and squealing ridiculously.
- What color are your eyes?
Green, the rarest eye color, with only 2% of the global community having that color.
- Do you wear glasses/contact lenses?
Glasses. It started out that I only needed reading glasses but I didn’t want to keep taking them on and off so I got progressives which I could wear all day. Now I need glasses for distance as well. I wear progressive transitions which turn into sunglasses when I go outside. I love having to deal with only one pair of glasses when I go out; I’ll never switch to traditional prescription sunglasses.
- Which is your favorite room in the house?
Toss-up. Love our sunroom for its three walls of windows and constant daylight. Surrounded by my many houseplants, it feels like I’m outside but always comfortable no matter the temperature/weather …. and no bugs! My other favorite room is the bedroom; it’s a warm, quiet haven from the outside world with our bed, two recliners, electric fireplace, big soft pillows, and furry blankets all in shades of brown, beige and gold. Loads of books and music but no TV.
Gratitude: Yesterday I made it through the first phase of my dental work …. replacing my 30-year-old top front bridge which X-rays showed had developed cracks. Today the dentist removed the crowns from three bicuspids and the old bridge, cleaning out any decay that was there and filing my incisors to fit into my new temporary bridge. He then took scans of my mouth, without the bridge and again after fitting the temporary bridge and gluing it into place with a strong temporary glue. Those scans will be sent to a lab where my new permanent bridge will be made. I was there for 41/2 hours, 10AM-2:30PM. One thing that was cool, though, was the dentist’s radio being tuned to WFUV (Fordham University Radio); I heard a couple of great tracks which I’ll use for my A To Z Challenge. The next dental work appointment(s) will include an extraction and two or three implants which will be the anchors for the permanent bridge; that surgical phase will take longer and cause more discomfort than today’s. No date set yet but I think it will be soon. In about six months I should be sufficiently healed for the permanent bridge to be put in place. During those six months, I must avoid chomping down onto things like bagels, apples, corn on the cob, etc., or eating meat off the bone like ribs or a chicken leg. I need to cut them into pieces and chew on the side of my mouth. But I’m grateful this first appointment went smoothly without bad pain and I’m only mildly sore. It’s a process.

Ah, the green-eyed goddess!
I only need reading glasses but I got fed up with taking them on and off, so I got prescripion bifocals that are clear at the top and focused at the bottom!
The only thing that makes my dental surgery tollerable is his choice of music!

Hahaha! Great comments which gave me a good chuckle. Nice to have you back home, dear Keith.

I’m with you on the glasses. Mind you, I also now need them for far so, I have to have two pairs of glasses anyway! One for reading and driving, etc. and one for the computer, otherwise I always have my head tilted back… sigh.
And OY! on the mouth work! I won’t complain about having my teeth cleaned today 😉

You had yourself a walk in the park, girlfriend! You know what’s a real kick in the teeth? We don’t have dental insurance; I don’t know too many people who do. No need to talk money. It’s ironic, though, that my dentist’s daughter is getting married this summer. Guess who’s paying for the wedding!! Cha-ching! 💰

I don’t have dental, either. Which is one of the reasons I’ve not yet taken care of some receding gums…
Yeah, you are SO paying for it!!

I’m with you on the glasses. I wore progressive lenses for years, until I needed cataract surgery. After surgery my distance vision was fine, but I still needed glasses for reading, and I didn’t want glasses that I’d have to put on and take off constantly, so I got new progressive lenses — readers on the bottom half, plain on the top half. Problem solved. My husband, on the other hand, wastes all kinds of time searching for the reading glasses that he’s always misplacing, and he sometimes forgets to take them with him when he leaves the house. I have suggested several times that he could avoid all this trouble by getting prescription lenses, and he always says “But I only need them for reading,” to which I reply “I only need mine for reading, too, but why do you want to be putting them on and taking them off all the time, and waste so much time looking for them?” Needless to say, my perfectly rational and obviously correct arguments fall on deaf ears. Sigh…

Makes perfect sense to me, Blue. It’s a no-brainer in my book.
Maybe your husband needs hearing aids, not glasses! 😂😂

My husband went out to get the mail a few minutes ago, and you’ll never guess what was in it — an advertisement, addressed to him, from Miracle Ear®. Coincidence?

Hilarious! Maybe they have a location next to the eye doctor. 🤓

I can understand why you didn’t want to repeat how your trip to the dentist went and I didn’t realize how much work you are having done. I hope you come out smiling in the end, Nancy.

Thanks, Jim! I was smiling just fine before all this but the X-rays showed it had to go! Gotta keep on top of these things.

What an ordeal! The 4 1/2 hours for me would have felt like ten! But when it’s done, you will be smiling all the while!

No shega! After two hours I asked for an ice pack for my back. That saved the day. I’ll be glad when it’s all over! Thanks, D!

Thanks for joining in Nancy. I hate the dentist, but go under protest as losing my teeth has been a constant fear of mine. At 68, I have gum recession but so far, nothing major, and the crown I had fitted over 40 years ago is still in place! Glad you;re on top of it and hope not feeling too much discomfort.

Thanks for your good wishes, Di. Things have a way of sneaking up on us. I thought yesterday’s appointment was going to be much more intense than it was; fortunately it was just removing old stuff from my mouth but it wasn’t pleasant. I’m still a bit sore but nothing Advil can’t handle. The surgical phase will be the tough one but I’m looking forward to getting this all done. I appreciate your good thoughts. Thanks so much!

Omg the dentist sounds like a nightmare yikes 😬 I know I have to go 😱 I feel for you, tooth stuff is never fun! Glad you weren’t in too much pain. As for ticklish, yes very 😀

Not really looking forward to the extractions and implants … ouch! … but I can’t live with a temporary forever. Funny, my old bridge looked and felt fine but X-rays showed it was structurally unsound and had to go …. along with the old crowns! Best to get it over with. Ugh! 😣
Thanks, Laura!

I love your answers, Nancy. Btw what is your eye colour? A 30-year old bridge? I know dental treatment is painful, but even at dentist’s place, you could find some music for you. That’s the positivity and your musical approach that I appreciate. 🙏💐💕

Thanks for your great comments, KK! Yes, that bridge served me well but it is time for it to go. Every dentist’s office should be playing music; it takes the edge off and I heard some good songs! You must have missed the answer to the eye color question, my friend. My eyes are green.

I wanted to confirm, Nancy, as only two percent people have green eyes. I’m glad you’re one of those rare persons, and you’re my friend 🙏💐

How lovely, my friend KK! Thank you so very much.
I was quite surprised to find out the number was so low.

Thanks for your good wishes, Joy. I don’t know anyone who loves going to the dentist but it’s necessary!
