Written for dVerse Poets Quadrille #217:
Poems with Zing! This is my quadrille.

Oh, luminous February moon
high above
In your radiant glow I swoon
for love
While Mercury, Venus and Mars
all sing
In harmony the twinkling stars
go zing
To Saturn, Neptune and the sun
I pray
Please send me a girl, someone
special today

Beautiful, Nancy. I was drawn to the moon for the word zing, too. I love this, and all that celestial beauty.

Thank you so much, De! The planets, moon, sun and stars have always fascinated me. Perhaps one day I’ll write more than 44 words on the subject! 🪐
Thanks for an excellent quad challenge.

A great song, first done by Kaye Ballard. Written in 3/4 (waltz) time until Frank Sinatra had it arranged in 4/4 time because Count Basie, who backed him, didn’t do 3/4…

This is so lovely Nancy, your rhyme and flow matching the alignment of the planets up there right now… maybe a sprinkling of stardust will fall ☺️

Tonight is a snow moon, and the goddess is surely walking in the woods or along the beach. I knew a girl in high school who believed she was the goddess of love. Maybe she was, but I wasn’t interested in her spiel. Guess I missed out on that one. My girlfriend at the time, Momo, now my wife, was more interesting.

Oh, you sweet romantic! I love your closing sentence. I don’t think you missed out on anything; in fact, I’d say you won the brass ring. So did I. Lovely comment. Thanks, Phil.
