Written for Ovi Poetry Challenge #81.
This week’s inspiration word is
“sympathy”. This is my Ovi.

You lost a love so true
And now you’re feeling blue
How could this happen to you?
I’ve felt your pain
Each night you shed a tear
For the one you loved so dear
And wishing she was here
I’ve had heartache
You don’t know why she’s gone
It feels so very wrong
And you’re singing a sad song
I know the feeling
It wasn’t so long ago
You said you loved me so
But you dealt me a low blow
I thought I’d die
First you cheated on me with her
Then she left you for another
Now it’s your turn to suffer
I just don’t care
You haven’t any decency
And you won’t feel my pity
You’ll never get my sympathy
I am finished

A fierce song isn’t it! I choreographed a routine to Gaynor’s classic last year. 🔥 Many directions your word could have taken you. Interesting to go in the “no” direction. Creative mind! 👏🏻

And I bet you did a routine for the ages, one not soon forgotten! 😎
You know, Michele, going in the other direction would have been “soppy” and I wasn’t in that mood when I wrote this. I was in a determined frame of mind so I went fierce, like you. 💥 🌋
Thank you, cara Michele.

That old adage what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger; hopefully it doesn’t make you bitter and closed.
Very nicely done, mon amie. xo

When in a toxic relationship, I believe there is only answer: get out while the getting is good, ya know?
Mille grazie, mia cara amica! ♡

Absolutely. I read a wonderful quote on FB the other day:
“If you get on the wrong train, be sure to get off the next stop. The longer you stay on the (more) the trip will cost you.”
I think that says so much!

I hope you realize this is fiction, Adarsh. I am a fiction storyteller.

Yes I can mean it’s depth, it is really very fictional towards love nowadays

Letting the grief pass through you, on to letting go. Blockages & being brave makes for longer recovery, sometimes Nevermore. Nice evolution shown in this Ovi!

No in-depth analysis here. Just relating from my own undertsanding of the process… 🙂

We survive
Or drown in the tears
Of our crying eyes …
