Remember those annoying commenting problems I wrote about? My comments weren’t going through on some of your posts. Sound familiar?
I contacted WordPress who wrote back with a few suggestions; none of them helped fix the problem …. except the last suggestion which was to write to Akismet. When I woke up this morning, this message from Akismet was waiting for me:
Nice to know my problem was fixed; not sure how I feel about big brother/sister watching!

It’s not unusual, Nancy. I don’t receive notifications of your posts, so I have to visit your site to read and comment. And it happens with many sites, and my blogger friends think otherwise. Strange is the way of WP.

It does happen, KK, but if you’re not receiving any notifications of my new posts, you might want to check if you are still subscribed to my site. That has happened to me where I was suddenly bumped off some sites and I had to resubscribe. WP has many strange ways!

On your advice, I rechecked just now. I’m still subscribed. And you’re not alone, Nancy. In some cases, I unfollowed and re followed , but to no avail. WP, like a politician, has no solution.

Happy to hear you got it straightened out Nancy! I love the clip 😁very fitting. As for big brother they have been watching us for way to long. Every now and again I flip the bird to the sky to say hi.Have a great day.

And yet, we’ve given google control of our home thermostat, Facebook control if our faces, and Alexa control of everything else. We’ve rigged up our doorbells and living spaces to the network, and all of this willingly!

I totally forgot about that. Laura did the same awhile back when she ran into a similar issue with her comments.
It does suck feeling like someone’s over your shoulder, but it is what it is, I guess.🤷♂️

Yeah, I was telling my mister about it and he was a bit put out about somebody watching over my shoulder but you’re right …. it is what it is!

I don’t have an issue with my comments that I know of. My issue is the damn likes not sticking. That one plagues a lot of folks it seems, and has for a long while. Somehow, I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon 😄

Yes, I remember you’re problem is with ‘likes’. Maybe Akismet can help. Certainly worth a try. 🤷🏼♀️

Perhaps I’ll see if they know anything. The irritating thing is it;s WP’s service, so why the jumping though hoops on our end? Why can’t WP just handle it?

Preaching to the choir, man! I get it but WP doesn’t give a fuck so why get yourself in a lather over something you can’t win? All a battle of wills with WP will accomplish is agita and wasted time.

Oh, I don’t get overly worked up about it. Totally not worth the energy. It’s agitating, but I sure as heck don’t let it ruin my day. They have to try a lot harder than that 😄
